Dr. Wen received hisB.S. in Veterinary Medicine from BeijingAgriculturalUniversityin 1984 and went on to earn a M.S in Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicinefrom BeijingAgriculturalUniversityin 1987. He taught veterinary acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal medicine at NortheastAgricultural University College of Veterinary Medicine from 1987 to 1989. In May of 1989 he came to the United Statesand worked as a technician in small animal practices. In 1992, he became the first Veterinarian tobe licensed to practice in the United Statesfrom the People’s Republic of China. He worked in small animal and emergency medicineuntil purchasing the HamptonVeterinaryHospitalin 1996. At the Hampton Veterinary Hospital Dr. Wen expanded his use ofTraditional Chinese Medicine so that currently 80% of the practice is herbaland acupuncture and the remaining 20% is surgery and western medicine. The hospital provides complete veterinarycare including diagnostics and surgery for birds, reptiles and smallmammals. In addition Dr. Wen performsacupuncture and prescribes herbal medicine for horses. In 2000,he helped found Natural Solutions, Inc. which produces the White Crane brand ofherbal supplements sold through veterinarians. He provides consultations for veterinarians regarding the use of theseherbs. Dr. Wen is afrequent lecturer at numerous dog, cat and bird clubs and has been on the Pawsto Care, NBCToday’s show and other television programs. He has lectured at the New York College ofHealth Professions in New York, Suffolk Community College in New York, the ChiInstitute in Florida, Chinese Veterinary Medical Association conferences, and the AmericanHolistic Veterinary Medical Association. Additionally, he is a member of the AHVMA,AVMA and AAVA.
